#ruckology #artjunkie First in a series of weekly brainjuice leakages, an upload from my cerebral mainframe to yours. Art. Man, it really can make your day. Be it visual, audio, audio-visual, practical or virtual. Art just has that uncanny ability to touch the soul, spark the imagination and be a general catalyst to positive things in our lives. I’m a sucker for the stuff and spend an inordinate amount of time mentally immersed in it on a daily basis, whether it’s my own or that of others. Over a decade ago I used to go by the handle artjunkie online. In fact that was the name of my first ever blog (on Livejournal) some eons ago. I am certainly an art junkie for life, no doubt. Art by Fiona Staples Cribbed directly from my Facebook feed, and from Jordan Phillips’ photos section for the world to see. Since I’m posting it here, obviously I think it’s pretty durn cool. Thanks, Jordan!
Art by Marcos Martin Coming in via e-mail yesterday was a notice informing me that there are new digital prints available featuring art from the run-away hit digital comic series The Private Eye, created by writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Marcos Martin (with colors by the exceptional Munsta Vicente). Above is the only black and white offering which goes for $50 (plus $10 for shipping). Head on over to the Panel Syndicate Shop page to check them out and maybe purchase one or all of them.

The cover (sans text) to Nocturnals: Carnival Beasts OGN (Image) – Artwork by Daniel Brereton Dan Brereton’s THE NOCTURNALS was one of my absolute favorite comic book series from the 1990s. Sadly I have not had the pleasure of reading this Image Comics graphic novel published in 2002 (during a brief time when I largely away from comics). Someday I’m going to have to do a column on this awesome sci-fi/supernatural/noir series. [Test post]
